Make sure to use the correct lighting when applying any make up. If you’re inside, try to apply your make up near windows so you can get the full effects of natural sunlight. This is the best way to keep from over applying your make up. When you’re in a dark room, whether you have a mirror to use or not, you are more likely to apply foundation, blush and eye make up too heavily. If you don’t have access to natural lighting, use as much light as possible without causing shadows.

If you have blemishes, don’t try to cover them with heavy amounts of one kind of make up. The best way to cover a blemish is to begin with a light amount of concealer. Dab a little dot on your finger and lightly blot it on the area you wish to conceal. If it doesn’t disappear immediately, that is ok, the idea here is to cover it and make it look natural with the rest of your skin.

Lightly apply a small bit of liquid foundation to the same spot, if you use liquid foundation. If not, skip to the next step. Of course, as with the concealer, use only a small amount and dab it on lightly. Avoid rubbing over that area when applying foundation to the rest of your face. Give your foundation a moment to dry and then apply your pressed powder.

Make sure that the colors you use are consistent with your skin tone. It’s a frequent mistake of women everywhere to use a shade darker than their natural tone and this makes you look like you’re wearing too much make up. This may also produce lines around your face that are anything but attractive. If you need to go a step lighter, you can fix this problem with bronzer or blush later. Make sure to apply your make up evenly for the best results.

If you’ve got red spots on your skin, a quick and easy way to reduce or remove the redness over night is with over the counter eye drops. Look for eye drops that are designed specially to get the redness out. Apply a few drops to a cotton tipped swab and lightly apply to your affected red spots. Over night, you will see the redness fade or completely disappear.

If you have thin lips and want to increase their appearance without cosmetic procedures or irritating chemicals, purchase a lip liner pencil that is one shade deeper than the lipstick or lip gloss that you typically wear. Sharpen the pencil to a very small, fine point. Draw a line around your lip line, just beyond where your lips end. Make sure to be careful and follow the shape of your lips so as not to look like a clown.

Then apply your lipstick or gloss and lightly reapply the lip liner. This will give the impression that you have fuller, more luscious lips. These are just a few beauty tips that should help you on your way to looking like a million bucks!
