In my position in radio broadcasting I am privileged to travel around the United States a good amount of the time. In my experience, the cities that we most think of as resort destinations aren’t as nice as those which don’t get a ton of exposure.
One of my favorites areas to spend time in is the Charlotte, North Carolina area. If you spend time looking online you will find plenty of Charlotte resorts available at affordable prices. The community of Concord, North Carolina is also very proud to be home of the latest Great Wolf Lodge Resort & Water Park. Located just five minutes form the Lowe’s Motor Speedway, the Great Wolf is a great resort to consider when traveling with a family.
If you plan on traveling to Charlotte, consider fall or late summer, as the weather can be rather humid in July and August. If you want to save money on your flight, look for late night travel by US Airways. Since the city is a hub for the carrier, they often will discount red eye trips that have to occur anyway in order to position aircraft for the next day.
