Acne is one of those things that once you get, it can cause you some temporary misery. Although for most teenagers, it’s something that is considered normal, if you are out of your teenage years and still get acne, it can be a confidence destroyer. What you can do is use different products to deal with it such as acne creams. Don’t try to look for the best acne cream. Whet it comes down to it, what will matter most in how effective these products work is how you use it. Many people simply won’t get into the habit of proper skin care and will therefore, face the consequences. So it’s important that when using these creams or any other skin care product, you make sure you use them consistently.
Another option or alternative to store bought acne creams is one of several natural treatments that you can do at home. Many people have no idea that many of the active or inactive ingredients (active and inactive are labeling terms only) in the store acne creams are actually derived from home remedies for acne that have been used for years and passed own over generations. Acne has been with the human race for a long time!

Peppermint is a popular treatment for acne that you can easily do at home. First, you get some peppermint leaves and crush them into a sort of paste. You can add a bit of water if you need to, but the important part of this treatment is the oil from the peppermint leaves. The oil is the active ingredient that actually kills the bacteria causing most acne. So, after you have crushed the peppermint leaves and made the paste, you apply the paste to the affected areas of the face and leave this on for roughly five minutes. The paste will have a cooling and soothing feeling. When the time is up, wash the peppermint leaf mix off of the face. You should do this two or three times per day until the acne has cleared up. If you experience irritation from the peppermint acne treatment, trying cutting down the number of times per day that you are applying it. Some people are just very sensitive to peppermint oil for whatever reason, but most people, even teenagers should have no trouble.
Whether you choose an off the shelf acne cream or other treatment or decide to try a natural home remedy for acne, the key as stated previously, is to be consistent in how you use the product or treatment. Most off the shelf acne creams do a good job with many breakouts and some even contain peppermint oil. But, the only way you will be able to clear up the acne faster is to be consistent.
