A friend of mine swears by his earbuds being the best travel companion he has ever had. He has to spend a lot of time commuting to work on a train that is quite noisy. Over the years he found himself trying all kinds of things to make the trip more comfortable. At one point he had a pair of noise canceling headpohones. There were two problems with them. They were bulky and they did not eliminate the sound of people speaking. Eventually he stopped carrying them with him on his commute because of their bulk.
Recently he came across a set of noise canceling earbuds that were also made to be noise blocking. The noise blocking party simply means they fit real snug into the ear canal and form a tight seal. He said the combination of the two is amazing. The train noise is filtered out by the noise cancellation and the rest of the noise is stopped by the physical blocking of his ear. He then jokingly said it allows him to listen to AC/DC in peace.
He actual listens to classical music.
