The first thing that everyone who passes their driving test wants to do is rush out and buy a car and get out on the road. This would be a mistake though as you have to consider other costs rather than just the price of the vehicle you want to purchase. There are road tax, MOT and servicing costs which all add up to make an otherwise affordable car into a cash drain which can leave you penniless before you know it.
On top of this there is the all time top annoyance to any new driver which is of course the fact that car insurance for young people is so expensive that it can often end up costing more than the car you are trying to insure. Young persons car insurance is expensive for a reason, new drivers are more likely to make claims so its one of those things that you just have to put up with for a few years. The important thing is that you take the cost of insurance into account when deciding which car your going to buy so that you have cash left over to pay for it.
