Internet Based Business

August 15, 2009

There is a lot of talk lately about the gold rush being played out when it comes to doing business on the web.  The argument goes that the internet is just like a gold rush.  The first people in make a killing and everybody else who comes in later gets next to nothing.  I am not sure this is a good analogy.

The gold rush idea is based on a fixed amount of some substance, in this case gold.  It stands to reason that the first people on site will find the easy stuff and it will get harder and harder for the new people.  Where this breaks down is unlike being a fixed physical amount, the internet is still growing daily.  I think and internet based business will be fairly easy to work as long as this fact is still true.
