Having a broken air conditioner sucks. So what do you do when it happens? Your first move is to figure out what it will take to fix it. If you know someone who can do the work, call them. If not you’re stuck using an HVAC company. They will certainly be more expensive than using your friend, but the work will get done. In order to keep you house cool in the mean time (because they always break the hottest days) is to pay attention to the shady spots of your home and open those windows. Keep the lights off. If you have the money, a portable air conditioner can provide some short term relief. If not, use a hose to spray off the hot concrete around your house when the sun goes down.
